Jorge Ruiz
Jorge Luis Ruiz is a Partner at Baker McKenzie, based in the firm’s Mexico City and Juárez offices, where he serves as head of the firm’s National Transactional Practice Group in Mexico. He brings over 35 years of legal and transactional experience to his role as a member of Alcedio Capital’s Advisory Board, where he provides senior management with counsel on cross-border transactions and foreign investment matters.
Jorge joined Baker McKenzie in 1986 and has built a practice centred on M&A, corporate law, foreign investment, banking, finance, and real estate. He has advised a broad range of multinational clients — including General Electric, Unilever, Navistar, and Sumitomo — on acquisitions, restructurings, and market entry across multiple sectors including mining, automotive, healthcare, and real estate. He also holds the designation of Commercial Notary Public for the State of Chihuahua.
Jorge holds an LLM from Columbia Law School and an undergraduate law degree with honours from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. He has served as Chairman of the Economic Development Council in Ciudad Juárez and as a former Chairman of the Mexican Institute of Financial Executives, and remains actively involved in a number of business and economic development organizations across the US-Mexico border region.
His depth of experience in Mexican corporate and transactional law makes him a valuable resource for Alcedio and its clients as they navigate cross-border investment and acquisition activity in North America.
